1. Check the condition of the screws and fasteners
First, check if the screws are worn, corroded, or missing.
Check the integrity of the nuts, washers, and fasteners that secure the toilet seat, ensuring there are no cracks or deformation.
2. Use the appropriate tools
Use a Phillips or flathead screwdriver, choosing the corresponding tool based on the screw head type.
If the screw is too tight, use an adjustable wrench or screwdriver to provide appropriate leverage.
3. Adjust the nuts and apply even pressure
Insert the screw from the base, and manually rotate it about half a turn to position it.
Rotate the screw clockwise with a screwdriver, gradually increasing the force, avoiding excessive force at once to prevent thread damage.
Tighten the screws on both sides alternately to ensure the seat is level and the force is evenly distributed.
4. Check for stability after completion
Gently press the seat to confirm that there is no shaking or looseness.
Sit on it once to feel if it is stable, and fine-tune the nuts if necessary.
